A case of MPs calling looters “thieves”

OK, so I agree that the looting / rioting this week has been a disgraceful demonstration of everything that is wrong with Britain. There is absolutely no excuse for it. However, sitting watching MPs in the House of Commons today, shaking their heads and sitting in judgement on those who have committed the crimes in several cities across England, I was struck by the double standard.

I wonder how many of the MPs who had to cut short their holidays due to an emergency Parliament session have submitted an expenses claim for the cancellation charges on their holidays.

It’s a bit rich for MPs to be gurning about people stealing commodities when some of those same men have submitted rather dodgy expense claims.
