I’d like to welcome Graham from Good Guy Publishing to the blog. Good Guy have recently come to the fore, publishing some really great short stories. Here’s Graham to tell us a little bit more about the venture.
What happened to make you want to go into publishing?
Nothing really happened as such, as I was always going to do a website. I guess the whole Trestle thing helped channel the direction that my site took. As now, not only do I want to publish my own work, I also want to help as many people as I can to publish theirs too and protect them from the people of this world who may want to take advantage of genuine people.
Tell us more about the authors you’re publishing.
The most recent author to join the Good Guys is a young man you may remember from uni: Callum Gibson. We have just released his latest story ‘Buckle’, which should be available on Kindle, from today.
What can folk expect next from Good Guy Publishing?
It is indeed an exciting time over at the Good Guy House and lots of things are being planned including more releases of selected fiction and non-fiction authors in electronic format, new writers joining the team as reviewers, they’ll be competitions galore, along with the exploration of charity work, which could take the guise of writing work-shops, competitions and other events. They’ll also be more FREE blogs for authors to advertise their work along with an interactive tips section for anyone interested in sharing their tips with other writers and artists. And lots, lots more too. It’s definitely a work in progress.
If someone would like to submit to you, what do they need to do?
We are currently seeking varying submissions and for anyone interested they can contact us through the website sending a brief outline or synopsis of their work.
We are also running two free-to-enter competitions, which close on 31st May 2012; the top ten stories from each category will be published in an anthology in December 2012.
Where can people find you online?
