Review: ‘Safe House’ by Chris Ewan

Safe House

Rob Hale wakes up in a hospital bed on the Isle of Man following a motorbike accident. He doesn’t remember much but he does remember he wasn’t the only one on the bike. But there’s no trace of Lena, the girl Rob says was on the bike with him and no-one else believes that she existed. Following his release from hospital, Rob sets out to find Lena – or at least find out what happened to her.

‘Safe House’ is an intelligently written thriller, with plenty of thrills and spills. Ewan writes with a confidence that makes the reader believe every word of the plot. The characters are well-drawn and are a pleasure to spend time with. It’s clever, it’s tense and it keeps a good pace throughout.

A great read.
